remove_node
Remove a node and all its children from the current Figma design.
Permanently deletes a node and its entire subtree from the Figma canvas. This action cannot be undone via MCP — the user can undo manually in Figma with Cmd+Z. Use get_selected_node or find_node first to confirm the correct node ID before removing.
Parameters
| Name | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| nodeId | string | Required | The Figma node ID to remove (from get_selected_node output) |
Example prompt
Try asking: Remove the footer section from the landing page.
Tips
- Verify the node ID with find_node before removing to avoid deleting the wrong element.
- The user can undo in Figma (Cmd+Z) if the wrong node was removed.
- Removing a parent removes all its children — use get_selected_node to inspect the subtree first.
