Local Connector Process

The npx connector bridges Claude and the Figma plugin

The @ai.to.design/figma-connector package runs as a local Node.js process on your machine. Claude Desktop launches it automatically via the command/args config. It listens on ws://localhost:3579 for the Figma plugin and bridges MCP tool calls from Claude to the plugin over a local WebSocket. No data leaves your machine.

Tips

  • The connector is launched automatically by Claude Desktop — you never run it manually.
  • It binds only to 127.0.0.1 (loopback) — no external network access.
  • Run npx @ai.to.design/figma-connector@latest --help to see available CLI options.
