find_node
Search for nodes by name or text content on the current Figma page.
Searches all nodes on the current Figma page by name or text content without requiring anything to be selected. Returns matching node IDs, names, types, and what matched. Use this to discover node IDs before calling update_text, update_style, or other editing tools.
Parameters
| Name | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| name | string | Required | The name or partial name to search for. Case-insensitive. |
| nodeType | string | Optional | Optional Figma node type filter (e.g. TEXT, FRAME, RECTANGLE, GROUP, INSTANCE, COMPONENT) |
Example prompt
Try asking: Find the pricing card frame so I can change its background color.
Tips
- Try synonyms if no results are returned (e.g. 'pricing' instead of 'price').
- Filter by nodeType to narrow results when names are ambiguous.
- Use meaningful class names in render_html to make nodes easier to find later.
